The connection between woodland environments and positive mental health has been recognised for years. It is now being promoted even more recently due to the pressures and difficulties people have been experiencing during the Coronavirus Pandemic and the restrictions that this has put on people’s everyday lives.

Walking in the woods, between trees, across rivers, exploring natural environments, smelling the air, listening to the sounds, feeling the ground, getting wet, and falling over is a sensory experience that can not only benefit emotional regulation but can also contribute to an overall increased sense of physical and mental well-being.
